SUNLIGHT Sneak Peek IBEX

Following the announcement that the striking 4×4 concept off-roader IBEX would go into production, curiosity in the SUNLIGHT community (and beyond) has been running high. From August 1st, the VW Crafter-based vehicle will be available to order – now the brand is revealing the first details.

The IBEX comes as standard with all-wheel drive, automatic transmission, six meters in length, 1.98 meters of headroom, and a powerful 163 HP. The progressive look exudes confidence, and as the off-road camper van is aimed at freedom-seekers and individualists, SUNLIGHT is offering a choice of four paint colors. They reflect the elements and environments in which the IBEX thrives: from Moroccan Desert Sand through Lava Black and Stormy Grey to the icy Glacier-Blue of Iceland. The topographic wrap has been adapted as a tribute to the great explorers and adventurers.

Viral Test Rides

The IBEX concept car has been continuously in action over recent months – including Italian filmmaker Denis Barbas, whose footage of off-road capability tests in Iceland went viral. The feedback has been incorporated into the further development of the IBEX, and a robust off-road equipment package is now available from the factory, including a light bar and 18“ offroad tires. The extra-robust roof construction with semi-integrated awning comes as standard as well as the high-quality running board.

Inside, the transverse double bed benefits from the rear extensions offers a sleeping area of 200 cm x 136 cm. There’s also a pull-out refrigerator that provides ample storage space and is conveniently accessible from both outside and inside.
